A note from Ann...
"All hail the power of Jesus' name! Let angels prostrate fall; Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him Lord of all... Ye chosen seed of Israel's race, Ye ransomed from the fall, Hail Him who saves you by His grace, and crown Him Lord of all... Let ev'ry kindred ev'ry tribe on this terrestrial ball to Him all majesty ascribe, and crown Him Lord of all... O that with yonder sacred throng we at His fee may fall! We'll join the everlasting song, and crown Him Lord of all."
Just think of it! The disciples could do little but watch as Jesus was carried away. Although He spoke openly to them of things to come, they neither remembered nor fully understood. Jesus, the Son of God, who had been born to the Virgin Mary, grew to manhood and became keenly aware of the reason He'd been sent; He'd been sent to be the salvation of all mankind. He talked of tearing down the temple and rebuilding it in three days. He demonstrated in life the power given Him by His Father to raise the dead, heal the sick, and know the sins of man before they were ever confessed. When He died on the Cross, He gave himself as a sacrifice for every deed that could separate mankind from our Heavenly Father. When the stone rolled back from the mouth of the tomb and Jesus exited victorious over death, hell, and the grave, everything He'd spoken before the fateful journey to Calvary began to replay in their minds. Could this be? Was this what He'd meant?
They soon learned that what they were fearful to hope was in fact 100% true!
"And Jesus came and spake unto them saying, All power is given unto me in heave and in earth." Matthew 28:18 KJV
Centuries removed from the scene, how do we respond? Are we fearful to hope or are we victoriously living in the truth? "All hail the power of Jesus' name!" Why? Because when He ascended to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to be for us what He had been for the disciples in the flesh. As believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ, in His death and resurrection, and in His pending return, we have the very power of Jesus' name dwelling in us so "that with yonder sacred throng we at His feet may fall!" April 28th-30th, let us all "join the everlasting song, and crown Him Lord of all."
