Ann
Downing speaks often about her close relationship with
her family. Ms. Lillie, Ann's mama, went to her
heavenly home on Mother's Day, 2005. Ms. Lillie spent
time in the Calhoun Nursing Facility in Calhoun,
Mississippi prior to her Homegoing.
In 2006 Ann and
her family presented Mr. James Franklin, Calhoun County Services
Administrator in Calhoun City, Mississippi with a combination dvd/vcr
and a box of Gaither Homecoming Videos in memory of their mother,
Lillie Sanders.
Ann's fANNtastics donated several hundred
dollars to the "Ms. Lillie Project" to be used in various ways in
nursing home facilities. Ann shared "we really wanted the first
recipient of the project to be where Mama was. The staff at Calhoun
Nursing Facility was just wonderful to her, we plan to do more there in
the coming months."
Ann, her sister Lavern, her brother-in-law
Jimmy and her niece Scarlett made the presentation during a
vacation at their family farm in Calhoun County, Mississippi. Over the
Thanksgiving Holiday in 2006, Ann and her family presented the Bruce
Nursing Center in their hometown of Bruce, Mississippi with a dvd
player and box of Gaither Homecoming Videos.
Ann and her
family are so thrilled that the fANNtastics continue to respond to this
project. The continued support allows Ann Downing Ministries' Miss
Lillie Project the opportunity to touch more people's lives
in these facilities with gospel music. This on-going
project will reach out to more facilities to help this oft-forgotten
population and honor those who provide care for them on a daily
basis.
